South African Batsman Faf Du Plessis Accuses Australia Of Ball-Tampering During Third Test At Newlands, Cape Town

Daily Sports News

After being accused of ball tampering in the second Test –that they won- against Australia in Port Elizabeth, South Africa returned the favour to Michael Clarke’s side, with Proteas’ Faf du Plessis reportedly claiming something was amiss about the ball reversing  as early as the 27th over on the third day of the decisive third Test at Newlands.
Plessis’ allegations stem from Aussie pacer Ryan Harris’ pronounced reverse swing that he began getting from the 27th over of the day. Harris accounted for Hashim Amla in the 29th over near the end of the extended first session.
According to, Du Plessis said something was fishy about the ball reversing so early as Australia gained the upper hand in the decisive Test match, with a 234-run lead at stumps with a full complement of second innings wickets.
